The series of landmark reforms announced by the Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys in September 2022, and approved by Cabinet in response to recommendations from the Pensions Commission, were not as radical as some observers had predicted, but were nonetheless, as stated by the Minister, the biggest ever structural reform to our State pension system.
