MDI producers target us100 price increase

ASIAN methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) producers were last week optimistic that an anticipated increase in Chinese demand during mid-Q2 2005 would allow them to achieve price increases of USus50-100/tonne.Prices for crude MDI had increased by USus100-200/tonne to USus3300-3500/tonne cfr China from late March,led by strong demand from refrigeration and pipe-insulation sectors.In the Chinese domestic market,prices were at Rmb36 000-37 OOO/ tonne ex-works.
