As a bonsai farmer I find that time is a very precious commodity. Growing many trees is not necessarily more difficult than growing 1 or 2 but a point is often reached when the time required for the totality of trees is just too much. The obvious answer is to not reduce the number of trees but to find a way to grow more trees in less time. There is no one technique that saves enough time to make a huge difference but collectively a number of more efficient techniques can allow one to get a lot more done or to have more leisure time. Often having the right tool can be very much more efficient than using the wrong tool. The correct Japanese bonsai tool often is the method of choice as being more efficient.
