The U.S. is the worlds leading producer of natural gas, according to the BP 2014 Statistical World Energy Review. Released in August 2014, the report reflects 2013 production data. The U.S. produces 328 Bcf/d of gas, up 20 percent from five years ago. The nation supplies 20.6 percent of the worlds gas, followed by the Russian Federation (17.9 percent), Iran (4.9 percent), Qatar (4.7 percent), and Canada (4.6 percent).
