A survey of the East Palaearctic Lycosidae (Aranei). 5. Taxonomic notes on the easternmost Palaearctic Pirata species and on the genus Piratosa Roewer, 1960

Study of the paratypes of Pirata shi-batai Tanaka, 1995 syn.n. from Hokkaido, Japan revealed that it is a junior synonym of P. praedo Kulc-zynski, 1885 described from Kamchatka and known throughout the whole of Siberia and the Russian Far East. Trochosa dybowskii Kulczynski, 1885 syn.n. described and known only from Kamchatka is synony-mized with the circum-Holarctic Trochosa terricola Thorell, 1856. The genus Piratosa Roewer, 1960 syn.n. (type species Trochosa dybowskii Kulczynski, 1885) is synonymized with Trochosa C.L. Koch, 1847. Two new combinations are established: Arctosa lawrencei (Roewer, 1960) comb.n. and A. bicoloripes (Roewer, 1960) comb.n. both ex. Piratosa.
