Over the last few months Ai Weiwei has been preparing a major exhibition of his work that will open at the Royal Academy of Arts in London this autumn. As part of this process I have been to his studio in Caochangdi in Beijing to help him define the structure and content of the show. Ai Weiwei will focus on the body of work that he has produced in the twenty odd years since his return to China, a period that exactly coincides with his engagement with ceramics.
