Florida-based Space Perspective plans to offer luxurious day trips in its Spaceship Neptune capsule, which will be lifted to the stratosphere by a giant hydrogen-filled balloon. The 'space lounge' cabin carries a pilot and up to eight passengers, who can literally watch the world go by from reclining plush seats, enjoying 360-degree panoramic views through the large windows while sipping drinks from the bar. There will even be Wi-Fi. Each flight will begin at dawn from Nasa's Kennedy Space Center, Florida, so guests can watch the sun rise as they climb gently to 100,000ft (30km). A gradual, two-hour descent will conclude with a smooth splashdown in the ocean, where a ship will retrieve both the capsule and the SpaceBalloon.
