摘要

Heterocyclic compounds containing thiazolidinone moiety have found diverse chemical properties and biological importance, hence it has been felt worthwhile synthesis of some new 2-(aryl/furyl)-5-H-4-thiazolidinone) sulphadiazine. In formation of these compounds sulp9hadiazine is refluxed with different aromatic aldehydes to prepare Schiff base derivatives (I). The compound (I) on reaction with thioglycolic acid gives the above named derivatives (II). The structures of the products have been characterized by IR spectral study. All the compounds were evaluated for antifungal and insecticidal activities. Some of the synthesized compounds showed good activity against fungi and insects.
