'How Old is that tree?'

Each year the Pennsylvania Bonsai Society stages an educational exhibit at the Philadelphia International Flower Show. For 181 years this world-renowned exhibition of landscape and floral design has been held in Philadelphia during the first week of March. During it's eight day duration, more than two hundred thousand people visit and most of them view the bonsai exhibit. The exhibit is manned by members of the Society with the purpose of educating the public about the art of bonsai. Like most clubsPBS has struggled with what information to provide on the signs for the trees and how to be most accurate. For years the age of the tree was not included because most of the members did not know the exact age of the bonsai. Of course, the most asked question is, "How old is that tree?"
