摘要

A single crystal of gallium arsenide was irradiated with a total dose of 9 X 10~(19) neutrons cm~(-2) by fast neutrons in the reactor of Atomic Energy Centre, Aldermaston, UK, at a temperature of 40 deg C. The small angle neutron scattering from irradiated and unirradiated samples was measured under identical conditions at the Institute Laue Langevin, France, using a D11 spectrometer. On comparing the results in the form of differential scattering cross section versus momentum transfer vector (A~(-1)), the irradiated sample does not show any dependence on small scattering vector, which indicates the absence of any large damaged regions due to irradiation. However, there was a slight increase in the magnitude of scattering.
