Copolymers (CPBA) with various properties of N-p-chlorophenyl-maleimide (CMI) and butyl acrylate (BA) were prepared by free radical polymerization in tetrahydrofuran (THF) using 2,2'-azo-bis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN) as initiator at 65 deg C. The copolymers were characterized by infrared, ~1H NMR spectroscopic methods and elemental analysis. Thermogravimetric analyses of the copolymers were carried out in nitrogen atmosphere at a heating rate of 10 deg C/min. The viscosity prameters of all the copolymers were determined.
