INDONESIAN operator Medco Energi has a spring in its step as it progresses with contractor selections for the Forel and Bronang offshore oil and gas projects in Natuna Sea Block B. The Jakarta-based company has several development projects under way in Block B-Hiu, Belida Extension, Forel and Bronang. The company said in its six-month 2021 results last month that first gas from Hiu is expected in the second quarter next year, followed by first gas from Belida Extension in the fourth quarter next year and then first oil from Forel and first gas from Bronang in the fourth quarter of 2023. Execution of the Hiu and Belida Extension projects is well under way, with main contractor Timas Suplindo selected and Citra Tubindo Engineering said to be among the subcontractors. For Forel and Bronang, there are two main workscopes that contractors are competing for.
