London-listed commodities giant Glencore has indicated that it will report record proOts of more than $3.2 billion from its trading business in the Orst half the year, as it reaps the beneOts of continued turbulence in global energy markets. Glencore said earnings before interest and tax from its marketing unit for the Orst half of the year alone were at the top end of its long- term "through the cycle" guidance range for annual earnings of $2.2 billion-$3.2 billion.
