A retrospective case control study of the effectiveness of influenza immunization on“healthy workers”was undertaken in a pharmaceutical company in South East England. A total of 140 cases were matched for age, sex, occupation and department. Pre- and post-immunization certified and uncertified absence was assessed and no significant difference was detected between the two groups.
