Synthesis and Crystal Structure of l,2,4-Triazol-5(4h)-one Derivative

A new triazole compound, C_(17)H_(15)N3OCl2, has been synthesized and the crystal structure was determined by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study. The crystal symmetry is monoclinic, space group P2(1), with a = 8.1479(17) A, b = 7.9177(17) A, c = 25.774(5) A, α = 90°, β = 92.976(4)°,γ = 90°. An extensive three-dimensional network was observed due to the π-π interactions.
