Of conventional construction, the Cuckoo incorporated no technological advances over contemporary machines. With an overall length of 28ft 6in, the wings were three-bay equal span at 46ft 9in, with ailerons on both planes. From the innermost of the three bays just outboard of the wing struts, the wings could be folded backward with their trailing edges against the fuselage to facilitate storage below decks of a warship. For longitudinal trimming, the tailplane's incidence could be altered in flight by a wheel in the cockpit.
