The company confirmed it has been awarded a contract to perform a wide Azimuth 3D seismic survey offshore Cyprus. The contract is scheduled to commence in mid-June and lasting until mid-August 2022. Further details of the client or location has not been released; however, it is believed that Block 5 could be the possible location. Energean Oil & Gas announced the discovery of gas in the Athena 1 block offshore Israel. The company commenced their exploration and drilling programme in March, starting with Athena 1. The well is believed to have been suspended as future gas producer and the drilling rig, Stena IceMAX, has mobilised to the Karish gas field. Energean plan to perform further analysis of Athena-1 to determine the full potential. It has been suggested that the well may be developed by tie-back to the Energean FPSO in the Karish field development. Lundstrom Tide 4,365 dwt PSV alongside 5,000 dwt PSV Stephen Wallace Dick is supporting drillship Stena IceMAX. Up to five wells are scheduled for the current programme. The drillship began drilling the Karish Main-4 appraisal well. It has been noted that the well is appraising the oil rim identified at the Karish gas field in the Karish (1/17) lease.
