The current impression of business aviation depicts an industry serving the privileged few, moving them without regard for the environment wherever their wealth and whim might take them. Alex Durand, CEO of SaxonAir, a Norwich Airport, UK-based charter operator, and vice-chair of the British Business and General Aviation Association, has his own surprisingly frank view on the subject. "It's an increasingly common perception and while there are valid concerns, it is damaging both to the industry and wider economies. Without it, wealth creators would create less wealth. A deeper understanding of business aviation reveals its significant positive contribution to economic growth, as well as the significant steps it and the wider aviation industry have taken and continue to take to reduce and eliminate harmful emissions."
