FOUR ROYAL Australian Air Force (RAAF) F-35A Lightning IIs from 75 Squadron have arrived at their new home at RAAF Base Tiridal, Northern Territory. The first two (serials A35-029 and A35-042) flew in on December 2, followed by two more on December 8. Air-to-air refueling support for the ferry flights from RAAF Base Williamtown, New South Wales, was provided by a 33 Squadron KC-30A. The F-35As have replaced 75 Squadron's classic F/A-18A/B Hornets, which were operated by the unit for 33 years. The Squadron will eventually operate 16 F-35As.
