摘要

The effects of aqueous sprays of salicylic acid (SA), acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and methyl-2,6 dichloroisonicotinic acid (INA), which mimics SA action, were investigated in an orchard at Tando Jam, Pakistan and compared with those of NAA, Ag+ and Co2+ ions sprayed on juvenile fruits of mango cultivars Sindhri, Dasehri and Langra at pea size (5-6 mm) and 2 weeks later when they had attained marble size (10-15 mm). All the chemicals significantly enhanced fruit retention for all cultivars tested. Onthe basis of cost, easy availability and convenience of preparing aqueous solutions, the use of soluble ASA is recommended.
