Recently, Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) Codes have gained a lot of interests. LDPC codes can be decoded in various ways, namely the Bit-Flipping (BF) algorithm, the Weighted BF (WBF) algorithm, the Log-Likelihood Ratio Belief Propagation (LLR-BP) algorithm and so on. The Bootstrapped WBF (BWBF) algorithm has been proposed to improve the error rate performance and the decoding complexity of the WBF algorithm. The Bootstrap step can be applied to various algorithms, however, the effects of the Bootstrap step on the algorithms other than the WBF algorithm have not been clarified. In addition, the error rate performance with the BWBF algorithms on channels except an AWGN channel has not been clarified. In this report, we apply the Bootstrap step to the Log-Likelihood Ratio (LLR)-BP algorithm. Furthermore, we present simulation results with the BWBF and the Bootstrapped LLR-BP (B-LLR-BP) algorithm on an AWGN and a fast fading channels. We show the effects of the predetermined threshold α used for the decision of reliability of bits on bit error rate (BER) of the LDPC code with the BWBF and the B-LLR-BP algorithms on a fast fading channel. We show that the BWBF algorithm provides a large improvements in both the error rate performance and the decoding complexity on a fast fading channel.
