Symposium Explores Ways to Advance Sustainable Development; Keynoter Ayadi Champions Millennium Development Goals

On October 19 Albert A. Grant, P.E., F.ASCE, a past president of the Society, called to order the symposium "Sustainability in Practice and Education." A Global Perspective," an event in Chicago that formed part of the annual conference and focused on ways of advancing sustainable development through education, engineering practice, and research. Hosted by ASCE'S Committee on Sustainability, the symposium was a highlight of the conference, as it brought together Society members and representatives of many other professional groups and international organizations for a fruitful exchange of ideas.
