Around the time the figures shown in this year's CE100 were locked in, a collective sigh of relief could have been heard around Europe, as we prepared to leave the problems of the coronavirus pandemic behind us. Only those with a fully-functioning crystal ball could have foreseen the host of challenges that were lying in wait for Europe in 2022 - challenges that have included the many variants of coronavirus, that simply will not go away. We mention this, only to put into perspective the relative calm of the CE100 table, showing noticeable growth in revenues overall, and some companies that managed to grow their businesses impressively during a year that saw many projects forced to close, or were at the very least set back, due to the need for social distancing measures and staff shortages.
