The Bonetti Group is a leader in the production of high-quality bandsaws and customized cutting solutions for the metals industry, and heavy mechanical constructions for steel plants. A recent order was placed by Aluminium Bolzano. Aluminium Bolzano needed a solution for preparing aluminium logs for several presses to avoid in-line cutting upstream the preheating furnace. Bonetti’s cutting experts were therefore asked to develop an innovative solution - a lean process designed to obtain an unmanned production cell capable of providing an extreme output speed of one extrusion log per minute: a machine fully integrated with the company’s manufacturing execution system, supported by weighing and ultrasonic quality control, to deliver impeccable and high-quality products in the shortest of time.
