Reassessment of Sphaeropsis undulata Berk. Curt

During an examination of the type specimen of Sphaeropsis undulata Berk. & Curt., No. 560 at the Mycological Herbarium, Kew Garden, it was found that S. undulata Berk. & Curt., actually belongs to Lasiodiplodia Ell. & Everh. The strait nature of conidia is diagnostic and this name precedes Botryodiplodia theobromae (Pat.) Griff & Maubl. Therefore a new combination Lasiodiplodia undulata (Berk. & Curt.) Abbas, Sutton, Ghaffar & Abbas is proposed.
