Texas regulators OK comprehensive electricity emergency operations plan reform

The Public Utility Commission of Texas on Feb. 25 approved newemergency operations plan rules for power companies and discussednext steps in its efforts to enhance reliability in response to Texaslawmakers’ Senate Bill 3, mandating power market reform.Regarding the approval of a new Subsection 25.53 of the TexasAdministrative Code’s Title 16, which replaces old emergencyoperations plan rules with a more comprehensive document,Commissioner Will McAdams said, “I think this rule is timely, given thesituation the country may face with foreign actors who may have aninterest in our system and the reliability of our system.”
