Chinese Firms Bag $1 Billion EPC Contracts in Iraq

A Chinese consortium has won the second of two engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for the development of Block 9 in Iraq’s Basrah province that are together worth around $1 billion. Block 9 is operated by China's United Energy Group and contains the Faihaa Oeld on the border with Iran, which had gross oil production last year of 44,000 b/d.
