New measurements have been made of the surface tension and density of nitrobenzene between 6°C and 20°C. No evidence of allotropy was found. Neither intensive drying with phosphorus pentoxide nor the addition of moisture produced any anomalous density changes, although some samples, cooled from higher temperatures, were kept for twenty‐four hours at 6°C.
