Iran expanded its natural gas processing capacity by 4% in the Iranian year ended Mar. 21, advancing the development of its extensivegas resources despite US sanctions and the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Gas processing capacity rose to just above 1.04 billion cubic meters per day, from around 1 Bcm/d, National Iranian Gas Co. (NIGC)reported. The expansion was entirely attributable to an increase in capacity at the South Pars Gas Complex to 750 million cubic metersper day from 708 MMcm/d. Together, Iran's South Pars and Qatar's North Field make up the world's largest gas fi eld.
