This paper discusses a sensor for monitoring the focusing and adjustment of space telescopes for a system of remote probing of the earth, in which the sensor operates from an image of an observed object and estimates the defocusing, astigmatism, and coma in the image formed by the space telescope. An algorithm is presented for the mathematical modeling of the operation of the sensor, taking into account the parameters of the optical system, the array photodetector, and the analog-to-digital converter of the video signals.
