A cleaning company must pay more than ?15,000 after an employee who was working alone at night fell off the edge of a restaurant roof. New Forest District Council prosecuted Macdet Hygiene Services after the incident at the Heath Hotel in Dibden Purlieu in January last year. Southampton Magistrates' Court was told in August that the worker was removing a grille on an extraction duct when he lost his balance and toppled over the roof edge.
