MODERNIZATION OF Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL; Indonesian Navy) basic rotary-wing training has got underway with the arrival of two new Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters. They were handed over from local company PT Atamora Tehnik Makmur during a formal ceremony on December 8 at the Navy Flight Training Centre. The helicopters comprise serial numbers HT-2301 (c/n 65352) and HT-2302 (c/n 65353). They will be operated by 1 Wing's Skadron Udara 200 at Lanud Juanda, Surabaya in Java, replacing the Eurocopter H120 Colibri helicopters used by the unit in the same role since 2002.
