Characteristics and operating results of Nanao Ohta thermal power station unit No.2

Nanao Ohta Thermal Power Station Unit No.2, located in Nanao city, Ishikawa prefecture, is a 700 MW coal-fired unit which started commercial operation in July, 1998. Since new technology was positively introduced at the planning stage of thisplant, high thermal efficiency was achieved, and it was proved that the plant had high operating flexibility such as fast load changing, low minimum load during the trial operation. This paper presents characteristics and trial operation results of theunit.
