We read your Editorial1 on diversity and inclusion in clinical neurosciences and noted the absence of discussion on neurosurgery specifically. Neurosurgery in the UK is a small specialty, delivered in 34 tertiary centres and consistently ranked as one of the most competitive medical fields. In 2020, 220 eligible applicants compited for only 26 available posts.2 With such high competition ratio, it is important to ensure a fair and unbiased selection process.
