This paper describes development of "Integrated Switch System", that is multi-function system, by which the audio system, air conditioner, and navigation system can be operated with a smaller number of switches. This system resolve several issues resulting from the incorporation of information technology in vehicles, such as the increased visual load due to the greater amount of information presented and the worsening of operability owing to increased functionality. This system has been applied to new Cima and new Primera. In developing the "Integrated Switch System", the usability evaluation was conducted and the results were used to improve the "Integrated Switch System".
