PTTEP Takes Over Erawan Gas Field

Thailand's PTT Exploration and Production(PTTEP)has taken over operatorship of the G1/61 gas project(Erawan)from Chevron.PTTEP expects production from the fi eld to decline to 250 MMcf-300 MMcf/d from 376 MMcf/d currently,due to the absence of continuous development and drilling activity prior to the transfer of operatorship.It was granted access to the site two years behind schedule after a dispute between the US major and the Thai government over decommissioning obligations was fi nally settled in December.PTTEP said it will prioritize safety and stability of production as the fi eld's new operator.
