Gbesity - Bariatric surgery and postoperative management

Obesity surgery has a proven beneficial effect on mortality for patients with a body mass index (BM1) > 40 kg/nV. The post-operative care should be struc-mred and led by an interdsciplinary team. To optimize long-term effects after bariatric surgery, it is important to screen for nutritional deficiency, postbar-uitric hypoglycemia and bone density. Further more psychologic surveillance is recommended.
