Post harvesting processing: Key for competitiveness and revenue

Marcelo Pereira Magnere is based in Oakland, California, USA. He is a coffee lover, quality specialist and private consultant, focussed on coffee quality (arabica and canephora) as means of improving coffee producer's livelihood around the world. Marcelo worked for several years at different international development projects in coordination with private companies and NGOs that include, Coffee Quality Institute, ACDI/VOCA, Technoserve, Winrock International and USAID in different countries around East Africa, Asia and Central/South America. The main objective of his work has been the decommoditization of coffee through quality improvement as a way of adding extra value and competitiveness in the international market, regardless the volume of coffeebeing produced.
