For years the Hobart property has been a pariah in this part of Ohio. As the small industrial city of Troy has grown outward into the surrounding countryside, this old farm plot has stood still. The nineteenth century barn structures still rest along the eastern edge of the property. The old windbreak still divides the fields into two. The only real change has been the construction of a municipal detention pond, which has naturally taken over some of the lower-lying areas.
