Society of Occupational Medicine issues COPD stanard

The Society of Occupational Medicine has launched a standard of care that should help to prevent chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) caused by exposure to hazardous substances at work. Most people (80%) living with COPD develop it from smoking. But for more than 300,000 employees in the UK, the condition comes from inhaling gases, dusts and fumes in the workplace.
