摘要

More reduction of both weight and size for the cylinder-block has needed to achieve the ability of setting to the small component Also the best conductivity from the cylinder-bore to the cooling water should be improved to decrease the temperature of inner cylinder. which is effective to increase the power of engine. To fill these demands, NISSAN has developed Hyper Eutectic Al-Si Alloy Liner-less HPDC Cylinder-Block with the lowest cost compared to several types of blocks ever been out. Rig tests were conducted to confirm the wear and seizure properties between Al-Si alloy for the cylinder-bore and plating for top surface of piston ring. Engine tests were also done to examine its durability and superiority such as reduction of temperature between bores. Manufacturing technologies concerned with new Al-Si alloy are also summarized in this paper.
