The equipment to recognize Japanese characters for visually impaired persons was constructed The equipment can display the characters as the convexoooncave of 16 × 16 pins using small air cylinder pins in area 68 × 68mm. It measured how many forms of a character a person with good eyesight could recognize by the fingertip using the equipment.
