Bayer’s Crop science division is expanding its crop protection research and development facilities at its Monheim,Germany site.The new product safety complex will include laboratories,offices,and a greenhouse area offering space for some 200 employees.The five-floor main building complex will cover 28,000 m2.The company is investing €220 million($240 million at the current rate)in the expansion.Early safety screens and artificial intelligence(AI)will be employed to design new crop protection technologies.The anticipated construction period of the expanded Monheim facility is around three years.Full commissioning is planned for 2026.
