A new coalition of energy companies is looking to kickstart geothermalpower production in Texas by analyzing the state’s geothermal potentialand demonstrating how the oil and gas industry can catalyze its birth.Announced earlier this month, the Texas Geothermal EnergyAlliance is bringing together a mix oil giants, oil and gas servicecompanies, utilities and start-up companies aimed at bringinggeothermal energy into the state’s power grid. Member companiesinclude Chevron, CenterPoint Energy, Baker Hughes, Halliburton,Repsol and Sage Geosystems.
