Recently, Abnormal weather happens frequently and becomes a big problem for the vegetable cultivation. Therefore, The plant factory comes into practical use. All environmental conditions, for example light irradiation, temperature, humidity, and so on, are controlled in the plant factory. This system made it possible to grow plants all the year round. The plant factory is divided into two types by the method of controlling light. One method is to use the sunlight as the source of light. Another method completely intercepts the sunlight, and adjusts light quality (spectral distribution of light) and optical strength using the artificial light, which is fluorescent lamp, Laser light, light emitting diodes (LED) and so on. Now, there has been increasing attention to second method, because this method can grow stable and high quality plants. An important thing is what kind of source of light is used. Especially, it was already reported in some papers that the differences of light quality affect the photosynthesis and the plant growth. These papers reported that the red light is necessary for photosynthesis and the influence of the blue light is the most important for the stoma closing motion and the morphogenesis. In future it is necessary to clarify that the relation between each light quality and the plant physiological phenomena. Before now, we investigated the bioelectrical potential of plant, and obtained the sensitive responses to the light irradiation with the fluorescent lamp. In this study, we tried to measure the responses of the bioelectrical potential under various light irradiations with LED and discuss the influences given to the plant activity, by which we will try to clarify the bio-physiology and to construct an environmental monitoring system using a plant activity.
