Oil futures edged higher Friday after the release of a strong monthly US jobs report, but the upside remains stymied by the continued recovery in output in Nigeria and Libya as well as the steady rise in US shale production. NYMEX September crude settled 55 cents higher at $49.58/b. ICE October Brent settled up 41 cents at $52.42/b.
