This latest Haynes Owners' Workshop Manual is said to offer an insight into the design, operation, maintenance and restoration of this long-range heavy bomber, so is rather more than a guide for someone who has a B-29 in their shed. It fulfils its claim admirably, describing the type's evolution via Boeing's XB-15 and the B-17 Flying Fortress. Surprisingly there is no illustration of the latter, although there is one of the competing but unsuccessful Convair XB-32 Dominator.
