On February 26, the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight shared images revealing Hawker Hurricane Mk.ll LF363 in its new colours, while undergoing overhaul with The Spitfire Company (Biggin Hill), based at Biggin Hill Airport near London. Previously marked to represent 1 Squadron Hurricane P3395/JX-B flown by Fit Lt Arthur 'Darkie' Clowes during the Battle of Britain, the aircraft now carries the markings of a MK.I in use with 303 (Polish) Squadron during the same period - V6665/RF-0. Delivered to 303 Squadron at Northolt on September 7,1940, the aircraft only served with the unit for 20 days before it and its pilot, 19-year-old Fit Sgt Tadeusz Andruszkow, were lost in action. The aircraft is expected to re-join the 'Flight' at its RAF Coningsby base in Lincolnshire sometime in the coming weeks.
