Saudi Aramco has agreed to buy the lubricants and chemicals business of US-listed Valvoline for $2.65 billion in cash as the oil giant seeks to add further value to its growing downstream portfolio. Aramco will acquire Valvoline Global Products (VGP), an independent producer and distributor of branded automotive, commercial and industrial lubricants, as well as automotive chemicals. Valvoline will retain its retail business.
