摘要

A sorghum hybrid and 2 cultivars of P. miliaceum were investigated for susceptibility and resistance to maize dwarf mosaic potyvirus (MDMV) and sugarcane mosaic potyvirus (SCMV). The plants were repeatedly mechanically inoculated and then symptomatologically evaluated and partially retested with biological and serological methods. The seed sample of the sorghum hybrid was highly resistant to MDMV and highly susceptible to SCMV. S1 progeny, produced by selfing an SCMV-resistant or immune sorghum plant, were highly susceptible to MDMV and highly resistant to SCMV. Segregation of the S2 progeny of an SCMV-resistant S1 plant suggested that resistance was inherited dominantly, whereas SCMV susceptibility was inherited as homozygous recessive. It was not established whether the dominant SCMV-resistance of the sorghum hybrid was identical to the Krish gene. The P. miliaceum cv. Miro 51 was highly resistant to MDMV and SCMV and Miro 94 was highly susceptible to MDMV and moderately susceptible to SCMV.
